Sophon will shut down its own chain and shift to building consumer-grade applications on Base.
Foresight News reported that the ZKsync-based modular blockchain Sophon will discontinue the Sophon Chain and fully shift to building consumer-level applications on Base. The team stated, "We already have enough good chains, but not enough truly valuable Apps." Therefore, they have decided to stop investing further in the chain and instead concentrate resources on products. The first product will be the gamified new financial application Pyre. In addition, the focus of the SOPH token will shift to directly accumulating value from product revenues. For node operators, token holders, and on-chain users of Sophon Chain, the official team announced that they will provide an asset migration plan.
