Unregulated FX and CFD Brokers Proliferate in Germany as BaFin Delivers Strong Caution
BaFin Issues Alert on Unlicensed Forex and CFD Platforms
Germany’s financial regulator, BaFin, has cautioned the public about a number of online platforms that claim to be legitimate global brokers for Forex and CFDs. According to BaFin, these platforms are operating without the necessary authorization in Germany and are not under its regulatory oversight. The authority noted that these operators are offering banking and financial services without official approval.
BaFin also revealed that it has come across several websites with similar layouts, all asserting that their brand is licensed in various international jurisdictions and is a trustworthy provider of Forex and CFD trading services. However, BaFin clarified that these claims are unfounded and that the platforms are not licensed in Germany.
