Cryptocurrency lobbying groups have slammed and filed a complaint against the Australian ABC's sensational reporting on Bitcoin.
the Australian Bitcoin Industry Association (ABIB), an organization in the cryptocurrency industry, has filed a formal complaint with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), requesting a correction of its recent report which contained multiple false statements and factual errors about Bitcoin.
The association stated in the complaint that the report portrayed Bitcoin as a highly volatile asset and a tool for criminals, while ignoring Bitcoin's value in grid optimization and humanitarian aid.
“This report distorts the core uses of Bitcoin, conflates it with criminal activities, omits long publicly available information, and is not based on facts, instead using sensational expressions to mislead readers,” the Australian Bitcoin Industry Association (ABIB) alleged.
