  • Glo Dollar support on VeChain ends January 1, 2026, due to the dropped platform backing.
  • Users can swap USDGLO through BetterSwap until the end of 2025 into Wanchain USDC or VET.

The collaboration between VeChain and Glo Dollar will officially end on January 1, 2026. Glo Dollar, the group behind USDGLO stablecoin, confirmed it will discontinue all activity on the VeChain network after this date. This marks the end of a partnership that began in March 2025 with support from the VeChain Foundation.

The decision came after VeChain chose to stop backing the Glo Dollar initiative. According to Glo Dollar, continuing the integration without active support was no longer sustainable. The team pointed to limited adoption and resource constraints as driving factors in ending the collaboration.

Although the original partnership was launched with shared goals around sustainability and public benefit, the relationship has reached its natural conclusion. Glo Dollar stated,

VeChain has decided to discontinue supporting our efforts, and as a result, we need to dedicate our resources towards ecosystems that do.

VeFam – an important announcement: $USDGLO will be discontinued on VeChain.

Instead, we will be transitioning to $USDC, powered by the ecosystem.

Conversion Window For USDGLO Holders

With the exit confirmed, token holders are being directed to swap their USDGLO for USDC before the end of 2025. Thanks to the collaboration between VeChain and Wanchain, providing users with a strong alternative. Glo Dollar team noted,

It’s worth noting there’s now a strong alternative with enhanced operability thanks to VeChain’s partnership with Wanchain, enabling swaps into USDC.

Individuals holding USDGLO can convert their tokens into Wanchain USDC via BetterSwap’s portal. This swap feature will remain live until December 31, 2025. Another route allows holders to trade USDGLO for VET on the same platform during the same period.

Organizations based in the United States have additional options. They can exchange USDGLO for USDC on any blockchain through Brale or through approved OTC partners.

Glo Dollar Activity Ends on VeBetterDAO

The shutdown extends beyond the token level. As of January 1, 2026, Glo Dollar will also be inactive on VeBetterDAO. The DAO was one of the places where users provided liquidity and earned rewards using the stablecoin.

Current users will still be able to withdraw any previously deposited liquidity using BetterSwap. In addition, all rewards earned before the cut-off will still be distributed. These will go to past liquidity providers and stakers, with distributions based on historical participation data.

While the Vechain Chapter is ending, the Glo Dollar team made clear that the project remains committed to its aim of building a stable digital currency with social impact. The team added.

Our mission continues. We’re still building a digital dollar that supports public goods and makes the world better for everyone.
