Vitalik: The generalization of light client verification requires L2 configuration and chaining
On October 26th, a16z engineer @NoahCitron stated on X platform that Helios is becoming a multi-chain light client for Ethereum. Light clients are the foundation of Ethereum's expansion. The future with thousands of Rollups seems not far away, and the closer we get to this goal, the more important Rollup interoperability becomes. Vitalik responded that this is an important step, and the next steps include: integrating Helios (or alternative solutions) into user wallets, configuring L2 on-chain, and configuring L2 specification state proof verification rules. Once completed, universal L1 and L2 light client verification can be obtained.
