Survey reveals half of US voters back pro-crypto policies
A recent survey by Consensys and HarrisX found that 50% of US voters support policies favorable to cryptocurrency, highlighting its growing importance in the upcoming election.
The survey, which targeted both nationwide voters and specific swing states, revealed that 85% of crypto owners view cryptocurrency as a key voting issue, with 92% indicating they are likely to vote.
The survey also showed that Republicans are perceived as slightly more crypto-friendly than Democrats, with 56% of voters supporting Donald Trump’s pro-crypto stance and 55% backing Kamala Harris.
However, Democrats benefit from cross-party voters in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, which could influence tight election races.
In Texas, Republicans have a stronger lead on crypto policies.
Dritan Nesho, CEO of HarrisX, noted, "This voter block, which is up for grabs by either presidential campaign, could tip the scales in an election likely to be decided by a thin margin."
The survey emphasised that while both major parties are seen as relatively equal on crypto regulation, 54% of voters feel it’s important for Harris to clarify her crypto policy stances.
Joe Lubin, CEO of Consensys, dispelled the myth that the crypto sector opposes regulation, stating, "The results of this poll show that crypto is a bipartisan issue, with voters also calling for clarity and a pro-crypto stance."
