U.S. 5- and 10-year Treasury yields fall to lowest levels since March
U.S. 5- and 10-year Treasury yields extended their losses, touching their lowest levels since March, while U.S. stocks fell, suggesting the move was driven by safe-haven demand. At one point, the 5-year Treasury yield fell 5 basis points to 4.02 per cent and the 10-year yield fell nearly 5 basis points to 4.13 per cent as futures trading volume increased.
