Bitcoin's weekend movements were moderate in the last 24 hours, with the asset managing to gain around $1.000 and again approaching the $89.000 region. Upon touching this level, the cryptocurrency encountered resistance almost immediately and lost momentum to continue rising.

The range between US$88.000 and US$89.000 became the focus of attention this Sunday, a period when liquidity is usually lower and the pace of major cryptocurrencies tends to be slower. Even so, BTC managed to stay above US$88.000 for much of the day, after a week marked by strong fluctuations.
Volatility began on Monday when Bitcoin dropped out of the $90.000 area and fell below $86.000 within a few hours. It then recovered to near $88.000 before another upward move on Wednesday, when BTC surpassed $90.400.
The reaction, however, did not last. Sellers regained control and pushed the price below $85.500, repeating a pattern of rejections seen throughout the week. On Thursday, after the release of the US CPI for November, Bitcoin again approached $89.500, but again failed to sustain the level.
With the subsequent correction, BTC fell to $84.500, a multi-month low, before starting another recovery. On Friday, the asset returned to around $89.500 and, even contained, remained mostly above $88.000, even touching $89.000 on Sunday.
With this, Bitcoin's market capitalization remained close to US$1,77 trillion, while its dominance over altcoins remained well above 57%. In the rest of the market, variations were more contained, as is usually the case on weekends.
Among the largest, ETH traded near $3.000, BNB stayed close to $860, and XRP held above $1,90. Some, such as SOL, ADA, BCH, LINK, ZEC, and DOGE, retreated slightly, while XMR and TRX showed gains in the 2% to 3% range.
Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies, NIGHT stood out with a rise of over 30%, reaching US$0,09. Uniswap (UNI) also attracted attention, rising approximately 10% to reach US$6,30, accompanied by significant gains in CC, QNT, and ICP. In aggregate, the total value of the cryptocurrency market increased by around US$20 billion, reaching nearly US$3,1 trillion.
