Norwegian central bank temporarily halts progress on CBDC plan
Jinse Finance reported that the Central Bank of Norway stated there is currently no need to launch a central bank digital currency (CBDC), reinforcing the Nordic country's consistently conservative stance in this field. This conclusion marks a temporary end to the central bank's CBDC research over the past few years. Although Norway is one of the countries with the lowest cash usage rates in the world, making related discussions more urgent, the central bank has still decided to postpone the issuance of a CBDC.
