The previous year marked a significant turning point for the AI sector both in the United States and globally.
According to TechCrunch’s records, 49 startups secured funding rounds of at least $100 million in 2024. Among them, three companies closed multiple “mega-rounds,” and seven secured investments of $1 billion or more.
What will 2025 bring? As we approach the last month of the year, 2025 has already equaled 2024 in the number of companies raising $100 million or more. In fact, this year has seen a notable increase in startups securing multiple rounds above $100 million compared to the previous year.
Below is a list of all U.S.-based AI startups that have raised at least $100 million in 2025:
November
- Anysphere, the company behind the widely popular coding platform Cursor, secured $2.3 billion in funding, giving it a $29.3 billion valuation. Announced on November 13, this marks their second funding round this year.
- Parallel, a company developing web infrastructure for AI agents, landed a $100 million Series A investment announced on November 12. Index Ventures and Kleiner Perkins co-led the round.
- Healthcare AI agent startup Hippocratic AI closed a $126 million Series C round, valuing the company at $3.5 billion. This was their second round this year, announced November 3 and led by Avenir Growth.
October
- Fireworks AI, a platform enabling users to build AI apps with open source models, raised $250 million in a Series C round announced October 28, valuing the company at $4 billion.
- Enterprise AI company Uniphore achieved a $2.5 billion valuation after a $260 million Series F round announced October 22. Investors included Snowflake Ventures, Nvidia, Databricks Ventures, and AMD.
- Sesame, specializing in voice AI, secured $250 million in a Series B round co-led by Sequoia and Spark Capital. The round, announced October 21, also saw SignalRank participate.
- Cambridge, Massachusetts-based OpenEvidence, which develops an AI chatbot for healthcare, completed its second funding round of 2025. The $200 million Series C, announced October 20, valued the company at $6 billion.
- Lila Sciences, aiming to create a science superintelligence platform, announced its second funding round of 2025 on October 14. The $350 million Series A was co-led by Braidwell and Collective Global.
- DeepSeek rival Reflection AI announced its second mega-round of the year on October 9. The $2 billion Series B valued the company at $8 billion and was led by Nvidia.
- EvenUp, which develops AI for personal injury law, announced a $150 million Series E round that valued the company at over $2 billion on October 7. Bessemer led the round, with Lightspeed, Bain Capital, and SignalFire among the participants.
September
- Periodic Labs, working on an AI scientist, announced a $300 million seed round on September 30. Felicis and Andreessen Horowitz led the round, joined by Nvidia, Lightspeed, and Khosla Ventures.
- Cerebras Systems, an AI infrastructure provider, raised $1.1 billion in a Series G round, valuing the company at $8.1 billion. The round, announced September 30, was co-led by Fidelity and Atreides Management.
- Modular announced a $250 million funding round on September 24. The round was led by US Innovative Technology Fund, with GV, Greylock, and General Catalyst also investing.
- Distyl AI, which creates enterprise AI software, secured $175 million in a Series B round announced September 23. The round valued the company at $1.8 billion and included Khosla Ventures and Lightspeed.
- AI infrastructure startup Upscale AI raised $100 million in a seed round co-led by Maverick Silicon and Mayfield. The round, announced September 17, also included StepStone Group, Stanford University, and Qualcomm Ventures.
- Groq, an AI inference company, secured $750 million in a Series E round, valuing the company at nearly $6.9 billion. Disruptive led the round, announced September 17.
- AI training company Invisible Technologies reached a $2 billion valuation after raising $100 million, announced September 16. Vanara Capital led the round, with Greycroft, Tallwoods Capital, and Freestyle Capital also participating.
- Cognition AI, creator of the coding agent Devin, raised $400 million in a Series C round announced September 8. Founders Fund led the round, valuing the company at $10.2 billion.
- AI infrastructure startup Baseten raised $150 million in a Series D round, valuing the company at $2.1 billion. The round, led by Bond, was announced September 5, with CapitalG, IVP, and Spark Capital also investing.
- Bret Taylor’s customer service AI platform Sierra raised $350 million in a round led by Greenoaks Capital. Announced September 4, this round valued Sierra at over $10 billion.
- You.com, a personalized AI search engine, raised $100 million in a Series C round led by Cox Enterprises. The round, announced September 3, valued the company at $1.5 billion.
- AI research lab Anthropic completed its second round of 2025 in September. Anthropic announced a $13 billion Series F round on September 2, valuing the company at $183 billion. Iconiq, Fidelity, and Lightspeed led the round.
August
- Healthcare and housing automation platform EliseAI raised $250 million in a Series E round, valuing the company at $2.2 billion. The round, announced August 20, was led by Andreessen Horowitz.
- Decart, an AI research lab, raised $100 million at a $3.1 billion valuation. The round, announced August 7, included Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Zeev Ventures.
July
- Generative media platform Fal secured $125 million in a Series C round led by Meritech Capital Partners. The round, announced July 31, valued Fal at $1.5 billion, with Salesforce Ventures, Shopify Ventures, Google AI Futures Fund, and others participating.
- Five-year-old Ambience Healthcare, developing an AI-powered healthcare operating system, raised $243 million in a Series C round led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz. Kleiner Perkins, OpenAI Startup Fund, Smash Capital, and others also joined the round.
- Reka AI, an AI research lab, raised $110 million in a Series B round announced July 22, valuing the company at $1 billion. Snowflake and Nvidia participated in the round.
- AI research lab Thinking Machines Lab confirmed a $2 billion seed round on July 15. Andreessen Horowitz led the round, with Nvidia, Accel, and AMD among the investors. The company is now valued at $12 billion.
- Cambridge, Massachusetts-based OpenEvidence, which is developing an AI search tool for clinicians, raised $210 million at a $3.5 billion valuation. The Series B round, announced July 15, was led by Kleiner Perkins and GV.
- Harmonic, building a mathematical reasoning engine, raised $100 million in a Series B round led by Kleiner Perkins. The round, announced July 10, valued the company at $875 million.
June
- Healthcare AI unicorn Abridge announced a $300 million Series E round, valuing the company at $5.3 billion. Andreessen Horowitz led the round, with Khosla Ventures also participating. This was Abridge’s second round in 2025.
- Harvey, which develops AI tools for the legal sector, announced its second $300 million round of 2025 on June 23. The Series E round, co-led by Kleiner Perkins and Coatue, brought the company’s valuation to $5 billion.
- Healthcare AI startup Tennr announced a $101 million Series C round led by IVP, with Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV, and Andreessen Horowitz among the investors. The round valued Tennr at $605 million.
- Enterprise search company Glean continues to attract investment. On June 10, the company announced a $150 million Series F round led by Wellington Management, with Sequoia, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Kleiner Perkins also participating. Glean is now valued at $7.25 billion.
- Anysphere, the AI research lab behind coding tool Cursor, raised $900 million in a Series C round, valuing the company at nearly $10 billion. Thrive Capital led the round, with Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, and DST Global also investing.
May
- AI data labeling company Snorkel AI announced a $100 million Series D round on May 29, giving it a $1.3 billion valuation. Addition led the round, with Prosperity7 Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Greylock also participating.
- LMArena, a widely used community benchmarking tool for AI models, raised $100 million in a seed round that valued the company at $600 million. The round, announced May 21, was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and UC Investments, with Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins, and Felicis also joining.
- Las Vegas-based AI infrastructure firm TensorWave announced a $100 million Series A round on May 14. Magnetar Capital and AMD Ventures co-led the round, with Prosperity7 Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, and Maverick Silicon also investing.
April
- SandboxAQ completed a $450 million Series E round on April 4, valuing the AI model company at $5.7 billion. Investors included Nvidia, Google, and Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates.
- Runway, which develops AI models for media production, raised $308 million in a Series D round announced April 3, valuing the company at $3 billion. General Atlantic led the round, with SoftBank, Nvidia, and Fidelity also participating.
March
- AI giant OpenAI raised a record-setting $40 billion round, valuing the company at $300 billion. The round, which closed March 31, was led by SoftBank, with Thrive Capital, Microsoft, and Coatue also investing.
- On March 25, Nexthop AI, an AI infrastructure company, announced a $110 million Series A round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with Kleiner Perkins, Battery Ventures, and Emergent Ventures also participating.
- Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Insilico Medicine raised $110 million for its generative AI drug discovery platform, as announced March 13. The Series E round, co-led by Value Partners and Pudong Chuangtou, valued the company at $1 billion.
- AI infrastructure company Celestial AI raised $250 million in a Series C round, valuing the company at $2.5 billion. The round, announced March 11, was led by Fidelity, with Tiger Global, BlackRock, and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan also participating.
- Lila Sciences raised $200 million in a seed round to develop a science superintelligence platform. Flagship Pioneering led the round, with March Capital, General Catalyst, and ARK Venture Fund also investing.
- Brooklyn-based Reflection.Ai, focused on building superintelligent autonomous systems, raised $130 million in a Series A round, valuing the one-year-old company at $580 million. Lightspeed Venture Partners and CRV led the round.
- AI coding startup Turing closed a $111 million Series E round on March 7, valuing the company, which partners with LLM firms, at $2.2 billion. Khazanah Nasional led the round, with WestBridge Capital, Gaingels, and Sozo Ventures also participating.
- Shield AI, an AI defense technology startup, raised $240 million in a Series F round that closed March 6. L3Harris Technologies and Hanwha Aerospace co-led the round, with Andreessen Horowitz and the US Innovative Technology Fund also investing. The round valued the company at $5.3 billion
- AI research and large language model company Anthropic raised $3.5 billion in a Series E round, valuing the company at $61.5 billion. The round, announced March 3, was led by Lightspeed, with Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and General Catalyst also participating.
February
- Together AI, which develops open source generative AI and model development infrastructure, raised $305 million in a Series B round, valuing the company at $3.3 billion. The round, announced February 20, was co-led by Prosperity7 and General Catalyst, with Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, Lux Capital, and others joining.
- AI infrastructure company Lambda raised $480 million in a Series D round announced February 19. The round, co-led by SGW and Andra Capital, valued the company at nearly $2.5 billion. Nvidia, G Squared, ARK Invest, and others also participated.
- Abridge, an AI platform for transcribing patient-clinician conversations, was valued at $2.75 billion in a Series D round announced February 17. The $250 million round was co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, with Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Spark Capital also investing.
- Eudia, an AI legal tech startup, raised $105 million in a Series A round led by General Catalyst. Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures, along with other VC firms and angel investors, also participated. The round closed February 13.
- AI hardware startup EnCharge AI raised $100 million in a Series B round that also closed February 13. Tiger Global led the round, with Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, and RTX Ventures also investing. The Santa Clara-based company was founded in 2022.
- AI legal tech company Harvey raised $300 million in a Series D round, valuing the three-year-old company at $3 billion. Sequoia led the round, announced February 12, with OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil, and others also participating.
January
- Synthetic voice company ElevenLabs raised $180 million in a Series C round, valuing the company at over $3 billion. The round, announced January 30, was co-led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, with Sequoia, NEA, Salesforce Ventures, and others also investing.
- Hippocratic AI, which develops large language models for healthcare, announced a $141 million Series B round on January 9. The round, led by Kleiner Perkins, valued the company at over $1.6 billion. Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, and General Catalyst also participated.
