POIDH, a blockchain-powered bounty platform, has announced a $28,000 DEGEN token prize for anyone able to surpass the Guinness World Record for the most skateboard kickflips in sixty seconds. The current record, set by Australian skater Ricky Glaser in 2012 with 36 kickflips, has drawn the attention of professional skaters, including Glaser himself and others such as Dave Bachinsky POIDH Offers 10M $DEGEN Bounty for Skateboard World Record [ 1 ]. Staying true to its motto “pics or it didn’t happen,” POIDH requires participants to provide an unedited video with a visible timer and obtain official Guinness World Records confirmation before the reward can be claimed.

This bounty operates as a decentralized effort, with 10 million DEGEN tokens collected—a

coin that is mainly active within the Farcaster and Base communities. If no one breaks the record, contributors are able to reclaim their tokens, following a model similar to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). POIDH’s founder Kenny highlighted how the project demonstrates crypto’s ability to motivate real-world achievements, noting that the bounty’s value shifts with DEGEN’s price and user contributions. While POIDH has previously run skateboarding competitions and daily challenges, this is its most significant prize so far poidh - paragraph.com [ 2 ].

The physical feat is extremely challenging. Skaters must land at least 37 kickflips in one minute—a goal described as “exhausting” even for seasoned pros. JD, who managed 26 kickflips in 39 seconds, pointed out the difficulty of keeping up technique and stamina after 25 attempts. Meanwhile, Alex Decunha, who claimed to have beaten Glaser’s record in 2021, has not been officially recognized by Guinness, highlighting POIDH’s strict verification standards.

POIDH’s model merges crypto innovation with grassroots sports. The bounty was increased to 35,000 DEGEN tokens thanks to contributions from community members, including The Haberdashery, a collective of DEGEN holders. Kenny, also a co-founder of The Haberdashery, compared the project to

, the 2021 initiative that unsuccessfully tried to buy a copy of the U.S. Constitution. Unlike standard DAOs, POIDH lets contributors keep custody of their tokens and vote on payouts based on their stake.

This project highlights DEGEN’s increasing influence in the Base ecosystem. First distributed to Farcaster users in 2024, DEGEN’s value has soared by 1,500% in a month, reaching a $212 million market cap. Its adoption in projects like Drakula and Superfluid shows its growing use beyond social rewards. The POIDH kickflip challenge, however, introduces a new application—using crypto to sponsor real-world record attempts.

To date, POIDH has seen 2,500 bounties created, with 1,400 successfully completed. The platform takes a 2.5% fee from each successful claim, helping maintain its liquidity. With skateboarding gaining momentum and the Paris 2024 Olympics on the horizon, this challenge could draw worldwide interest, combining crypto’s speculative appeal with athletic accomplishment Kickflips for Crypto?
