According to a report by Jinse Finance, although Russia remains resolute in advancing its military operations, the Kremlin is weighing concessions to U.S. President Trump, which may include reaching an aerial ceasefire agreement with Ukraine in an effort to avoid secondary sanctions. Sources familiar with the matter indicated that, despite low external expectations for a successful deal, the visit to Russia this week by U.S. Middle East envoy Wietkov is seen by the Russian side as one of the last opportunities to reach an agreement with Trump. One of the sources stated that suspending airstrikes—including those involving drones and missiles—could be a potential proposal to ease tensions, provided that Ukraine also participates in the agreement. However, Russian President Putin will not agree to a comprehensive ceasefire in Ukraine, as Russian forces continue to make steady advances on the battlefield and Russia’s objectives remain unchanged.
