Trump and His Donors to Spend $200 Million of Their Own Money to Renovate the White House
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Politico has revealed that the White House is set to undergo a major $200 million renovation of its East Wing, marking the latest construction project for the executive residence under Trump. White House Press Secretary Levitt announced on Thursday that a new White House State Banquet Hall, covering approximately 90,000 square feet and accommodating 650 people, will break ground in September. According to information on the White House website, Trump and other "patriotic donors" will cover the $200 million renovation cost. Levitt stated that the East Wing will also undergo "modernization," and all office areas, including the First Lady's office, will be temporarily relocated during construction. This is the latest and most expensive in a series of recent White House renovation projects during Trump's tenure. Levitt said the project is expected to be completed before the end of Trump's term.
