Native USDC and Circle's CCTP V2 to Launch on Sei
Odaily Planet Daily reports that USDC’s cross-chain transfer protocol, CCTP V2, is set to launch on Sei Network, enabling high-speed, low-cost native USDC transfers across multiple blockchains. This integration will bring the world’s largest compliant stablecoin, USDC, to Sei, enhancing network liquidity and reinforcing its position as an institutional-grade financial infrastructure.
Native USDC offers 1:1 USD redemption, full reserves, and regulatory compliance, and can be accessed through Circle Mint for institutional-grade on- and off-ramps. CCTP V2 will enable seamless USDC transfers between Sei and other public blockchains, supporting the development of efficient cross-chain application liquidity routing infrastructure.
It is reported that Circle is one of Sei’s early investors. Wyatt Lonergan, Partner at Circle Ventures, stated that they will work closely with the Sei team to jointly advance stablecoin trading and the development of open finance.
