WLFI, the Trump Family's Crypto Project, Refutes U.S. Senator's Investigation into USD1's Ties with Trump
Show original
The Trump family's cryptocurrency project, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), has responded to an investigation by U.S. Senate Democrat Richard Blumenthal regarding the relationship between its USD1 stablecoin and former President Trump. The project's lawyer stated that the investigation is politically motivated. World Liberty Financial emphasized that the USD1 stablecoin is backed by the U.S. dollar and U.S. Treasury bonds, operates transparently, and complies with regulatory requirements. Previously, U.S. Senate Democrats expressed concerns about the connections between World Liberty Financial and the Trump family, pointing out a potential conflict of interest in the company's $2 billion investment agreement with Abu Dhabi state-owned enterprise MGX. World Liberty Financial stated that its operations are independent of the Trump administration and that all investments follow compliance procedures. (The Block)
