Virtuals Protocol fixes a contract vulnerability and promises to reward white hat researchers
an unexpected vulnerability was found in an audited smart contract. Virtuals Protocol promptly released a fix and restarted its bug bounty program. On December 3, 2024, a security researcher named Jinu contacted Virtuals Protocol after discovering a vulnerability in their audited contract. However, after reporting the issue, Jinu learned that the company had not activated their bug bounty program, meaning that this discovery did not meet the criteria for receiving a reward. Virtuals Protocol confirmed the white hat vulnerability discovery. Although Virtuals Protocol has fixed the vulnerability in a timely manner, they have not yet announced providing a bug bounty to Jinu. In a message sent to the researcher, the company thanked Jinu for reporting the issue and apologized for the previous miscommunication.
