Base received a grant of 3 million OP from Optimism, valued at approximately 5 million US dollars
Base announced that it has received governance approval from Optimism and will receive a grant of 3 million OP tokens, worth approximately $5 million. The grant aims to incentivize DeFi developers on Base to increase the total value locked (TVL) of Ethereum and Bitcoin.
Base stated that details of the specific incentive plan will be announced gradually, but there will not be incentives targeted at specific fund pools or user activities.
In its first year of operation, Base contributed 2625 ETH (approximately $6.7 million) in revenue for Superchain, accounting for more than 70% of the total transaction volume.
