Consensys Acquires Wallet Guard to Enhance MetaMask Security
Consensys, the MetaMask development company, has announced the acquisition of Wallet Guard, a cryptographic security application, to enhance the security of MetaMask. The Wallet Guard team will join Consensys as a whole in this deal. Notably, in February, Consensys has integrated Blockaid security alerts in MetaMask, which is expected to prevent hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets from being stolen in 2024. According to Chainalysis, more than $1.7 billion worth of crypto assets were stolen through scams in 2023.
