TradFi Executive: Cryptocurrency Derivatives Will Play a Key Role in Bitcoin's Future
BTC and ETH derivatives will play a key role in integrating cryptocurrencies into traditional finance (TradFi) and propelling them to record highs, TradFi executives say.Pierce Crosby, managing director of TradingView, noted that derivatives have always been an important part of cryptocurrency trading, but that high fees and slippage had adversely affected traders. Giovanni Vicisoso, head of global cryptocurrency products at CME Group, argued that a spot Bitcoin ETF would attract investors who don't want to use centralized exchanges and would help with Bitcoin price discovery, while Jim Iuorio, managing director at TJM Institutional Services, said that the Federal Reserve may have to cut interest rates and easing, which would be beneficial for stocks and bitcoin. Crosby also mentioned that large institutional investors are changing the narrative that cryptocurrencies are just an appendage to tech stocks, and that the crypto market will eventually recover, even though the market is sometimes affected by internal black swan events.
