Polygon Labs Releases Zero-Knowledge Ethernet Virtual Machine to Boost Scalability
Polygon Labs, the Polygon ecosystem infrastructure team, has introduced its latest innovation, the Polygon Zero Knowledge Ether Virtual Machine (zkEVM) Type 1 Proof.Type 1 Proof has the highest compatibility with the Ether blockchain. This means that it does not need to change any part of Ether when generating proofs, including the storage structure, hash function or any other consensus logic. According to Polygon co-founder Brendan Farmer, Type 1 zkEVM has to make performance tradeoffs when generating proofs, requiring more computation, but ultimately making Ether Layer-1 itself more scalable.
