ZachXBT Exposes Canadian Scammer Posing as an exchange Support, Involving Over $2 Million in Losses
BlockBeats News, December 30, according to on-chain detective ZachXBT, Canadian threat actor Haby (Havard) has reportedly carried out social engineering scams by impersonating an exchange customer support, stealing over 2 million USD worth of crypto assets in the past year, and squandering the proceeds on rare social media usernames, nightclubs, gambling, and other expenses.
The investigation reveals that Haby has recently been buying expensive Telegram usernames and deleted recent accounts two days ago. Through OSINT analysis, the location is suspected to be Abbotsford near Vancouver. ZachXBT indicated that Canadian law enforcement may have obtained relevant information, but the local prosecution rate for similar cases is low.
